Itinerary description

1,5 hour hike going up to the main viewpoint of Carpe Diem but instead of coming back the same way you continue walking passing a few other viewpoints and goong down until you are back in the hostel. All the walk is inside Fica Carpe Diem's property. One of the most beautiful walks Caroe Diem offers, not so long but rather difficult - not dangerous but several steep slopes. Amazing views!!

The trail from the reception desk to San Bernardino viewpoint was steep at times, but was clearly marked. However, the trail seemed to disappear at San Bernardino viewpoint. We tried to continue the trail from there, but it was so overgrown that we weren’t ever sure that we were on the trail, and eventually decided to return the way that we came. From San Bernardino viewpoint we had a great view of the mountains on one side and cuidad Santa Marta and the ocean on the other, and the hike was worthwhile just for that view.

Do not complete this loop!!!!!! Apparently they stopped maintaining the trail during COVID. I was unaware before I went on the hike but quickly realized the pathway disappears in the second half. I was forced to shove my way through many branches and vines. Would not recommend

The second part of the trail is impossible to finish now. We asked for two machetes at the reception :) With it we managed to re-open 200 meters from the first viewpoint until a big rock near the second viewpoint. But it would take several days of machete slayers to re-open the second part of the route. 3 stars because we enjoyed the machete opening experience. Kudos to Kobe for having opened it the first time!
