Sadly this route is blocked (as of late June 22) by a very large landslide that has destroyed the path about two thirds of the way. We had to turn back.
This hike was amazing. No people, just nature. We have been walking for 7,5 hours, incl. stops at a beautiful waterfall, at a finca and a 360° viewpoint. I can highly recommend this hike. We only saw horses' footprints, no people. Not many people do this hike and I can't understand that. It was the most beautiful hike that can be done if you're in a good shape. It was challenging, joyful and peaceful. I loved it.
See my review above. Such a great hike. But you need the app to keep on the trail. It was a beautiful hike, challenging, joyful and peaceful. No people, just nature. But I would say you have to plan at least 5,5 hours without stops and about 7 hours incl. stops at a beautiful waterfall, a Finca and the 360° viewpoint at the very top.

Cool but sometimes scary…. In one moment in the middle of the hike, clearly you need a machete to go through the path. Got injured by some plants. Then you arrive at the farmer house where there are two dangerous dogs. We have been stucked 15 minutes. Barely bite us. Otherwise it’s just you and the nature. Beautiful I

We loved our walk from Finca Carpe Diem to Minca! We set off around 9ish and it took 4 and a half hours - but we took minimal breaks.
A bit overgrown in areas but we loved the wider tracks, lined with huge bamboo.
A few misturns but on the whole easy to follow. As we got to the farmhouse with the scary dogs (luckily chained up) the path mapped out tried to stay left but I think more recently it has curved around to the right and then there is a sign left to Minca and then joins back up. Luckily a local farmer showed us the way.
The uphill is pretty brutal (especially in the heat!) - recommend lots of water.
We made it up to about 80% of the 360 mirador but were too exhausted to reach the very end! Still stunning views.
Even better having a beer in Minca to cheers all the hard work!
Very aggressive guard dogs and the trail was difficult to follow. I would strongly advise against this, and if you are going to attempt it, carry a stick to defend yourself against the dogs.
