FGP3a (Aeródromo - Forno - Vicente Dias - Cabeça do Monte - Cisterno)

O FGP3a inicia no aeródromo, contornando-o, e segue o caminho de terra até à localidade de Forno. Chegando à estrada segue pela mesma, cerca de 350 metros, continuando depois para Forno de Cima, por um caminho empedrado até Vicente Dias. A partir daqui o trilho percorre os mais importantes terrenos vinícolas, fora de Chã das Caldeiras, destacando-se a vinha Maria Chaves. O percurso continua a subir até Cabeça do Monte, onde por alguns metros atravessa a estrada, e continua a subida até Monte Contador, um pequeno vulcão de escória de onde se tem uma vista incrível. A primeira secção do percurso principal (FGP3a) termina em Cisterno, onde é possível continuar para a segunda secção do percurso principal (FGP3b), ou apanhar um transporte para a cidade de São Filipe ou outros pontos da ilha.

This is probably the greenest trail of the Fogo Island. It begins at 1.700 meters high and descends The FGP3a initiates in the aerodrome, it goes around it and then follows a track that leads to Forno. When it arrives at the main road, it goes along it for 350 meters and then turns to Forno de Cima through a rocky road up to Vicente Dias. From here, the trail passes by the most important vineyard sites, outside Chã das Caldeiras, where the vineyard Maria Chaves stands out. The trail continues through an uphill to Cabeça do Monte, where it meets the main road for a few meters, and then takes back the uphill to Monte Contador, which is small slag volcano from where you can stare at an incredible view. The first section of the main trail (FGP3a) ends in Cisterno, where it is possible to continue on the second section of the main trail (FGP3b), or catch a transport back to São Filipe or other parts of the Island.
