Itinerary description
Beautiful winter hike from Falmenta (Durone) into the valley of the Rio Falmenta, along several hamlets and eventually to the Alpe Forna and back. When leaving the forest, at the last house ruin (Mazzarocco) there was 30 - 50 cm of snow. The final ascend from the Alpe Forna Inferiore to the Alpe Forna was difficult without snowshoes or backcountry skis. Better to take them along under these conditions.
