Itinerary description
Hiked this in July, 2023. It's been a wet spring in PA so the river is flowing nicely. There are 22 falls in the park accessible from the falls trail. However at the time of this writing hiking a loop that includes all falls isn't possible due to some closures. The trails are well maintained, but can be difficult in places due to steep steps. I didn't have any problems slipping, but some of the rocks on the stairs are loose so it's important to take it slow and wear good hiking boots or shoes. This is the best state park in PA that I have ever visited. The falls are amazing when the water is flowing well. I hiked it during a weekday and the parking lot at Lake Rose was getting fuller but still had room. Started at 0730 when parking lot was near empty and it was peaceful. If you want to hike it before the foot traffic gets heavy hike it early in the morning.
