Itinerary description
One of the nicest trips around. Coming from Rome, one passes Nepi, after which it is another 4 km to very comfortable parking. After approx. 2 km, the trail dips into a thick forest, and follows a small creek, the Rio Maggiore, which is being followed in its very scenic valley. The creek has to be crossed several times over adventurous "bridges", oftentimes just wading through water or a log.
The trail abounds with even pre-etruskan gravesites, oftentimes in a spectacular setting. Great views on the majestic "Monte Soratte", greating from approx. 10 km distance.

Second time we have followed this trail, just a great trail that's mostly in the shade. Not the best for the hottest days but if it's sunny you can find some shade.
