Itinerary description

Amazingly quiet and a bit easier than Faja palay but doesn't go all the way to cirque and no views of my perdu. But some fabulous views of the canyon. It's a very safe Faja with no real issues for ppl with vertigo. Short version in 4.5hrs and longer one in 5hrs 45min.

Shortly after the path starts it's punishing upward climb through beech forest

At any forest junction follow green and white markers and remember it's always up!!

At 1620m and fifty min from start pass this wooden shelter. Still in the dense quiet woodland

Few min on from cabin trees peel away to reveal the cirque de carriata with its dramatic rock pinnacle. Now get first views back into canyon

Hr 20 from start and 1820m reach this junction near head of cirque. Go right. Left is for climbers only!!

Path bends east and heads up the canyon away from cirque. This is now the Faja but it starts super easy and not at all steep. Look up though and U can just make out notch in rock face way above of Faja Flores

First view up canyon

Fewer steeper sides and rock fall areas but basically it's a breeze

Few mildly more scrambling bits

Some places very prone to rockfall. Don't longer!

Path tips more ne and U can see second Faja etched into cliffs OPP then just round corner is the big waterfall up at head of cirque

As U head deeper into cirque toward waterfall the path gently looses height and rtns to upper most fringe if forest. Mainly for trees here but U can see the mass of beech hemming the river in the canyon floor

At this junction 3hrs from start go toward pradera downhill. The other route is climbers only and is dangerous!

Zig zag steep downhill through beech trees for 5min till U reach this cabin , a junction with sign and waterfall at this junction go toward Faja canarellos unless U want to call it a day and descend straight down to valley floor and back to pradera for four hr walk

Doesn't take long to reach the flatter ground of this next Faja. Immediately the best views so far

This Faja a little more exposed

After a few hundred impressive steep moments (but nothing too bad) the path bends and starts a slow drop into woods

One last bit where it tucks in tight and a chain is there for two metres to help U but not needed

Straight after is a very exposed bit on grass. Be careful

A short way past waterfalls is a signed junction. I can go either way but it's nice to turn left cross. Bridge and descend on quite left bank. Distance the same
