Itinerary description
This pleasant hike explores the western end of the Fairservice Main logging road on the outskirts of Lake Cowichan. It is a mixture of forest, logging road and urban street walking.
The Wikiloc records the route ending at Saywell Park, adding about half a KM. The path starts along an old logging railway, the impressions of the railway ties can still be seen on the ground. Fairservice Main offers great views of Mount Skidder to the south and Hill 60 Ridge. The section along Fairservice Creek is through young replanted forest.
The Retreads Hiking Club gives this hike an American Volksports Association rating of 2B.
