Itinerary description

If you want to see the formation called “Meteora of Cyprus”, go on this trail. The trail as well follows Ezousa river on the both banks.
There are plenty of vine yards in the 2nd half of the trail as well as citrus gardens.

SEASON: for cool season, very little shade. Fantastic scenery in spring - green fields, blooming flowers - mini Switzerland. In rainy seasons (or spring) the river may flood some parts of the trail.

TERRAIN: various types of roads - asphalt, concrete, gravel, rocky and dirt (the latter maybe wet and muddy after the rains), some mild ascending and descending (apart from the constant ascent for the last 1+ km), a few wet crossings of the river.

SIGNS: there are enough signs to direct you the right way as well as plant plates. A few benches are on the way.

There is a primitive picnic site on the way back, mostly the space under the trees and a self made table, bended swings and a see-saw.

KIDS: the whole trail is not for little kids, from 7-8 yo approximately.

The parking is near Environmental center.

@jmccafferty62@outlook.com thanks for your review. The state of the crossings are much depend on a winter (amount of rains, snow, etc.), the year I walked the trail had rather warm and dry winter and the state of crossing at that time are well seen on my photos.

I have followed this trail  verified  View more

Отличный маршрут по апельсиновым садам, речке, романтическим местам.
Шли в обратном направлении. Нам показалось, что так лучше. Весной есть два источника вкусной воды.

Great trail information, your trip reports are always a pleasure to read. Would it be worth doing just the first 3kms or so? From your photos it looks like that section is mostly on level ground. I'm thinking of doing this with my father and he's not great on uneven ground, but the paved and dirt roads look fine.
Thanks for so many detailed trip reports!

@natashagellaty Thank you very much for your comment. You can walk 1st half of the trail up to wet crossings, which maybe difficult for you father, though I’m not aware of their current state. However there still be descent and then you’ll need to ascend on the way back as starting point is on top of the trail.

Thanks Marianna, I was just hoping to do the first 3km out and back again. The descent and ascent on a paved or gravel road isn't a problem. Thanks very much for your response.
