Itinerary description
Impressive hike through lapilli and ash slopes of the Etna. We did not reach the summit because the police stopped us for having no permit. They said that you need a local guide. Running down the ash slopes is great fun and saves a lot of time. The track stopped at the highest reached point. So the return trail was not recorded. Therefore calculate time to return.
