NEW YORK
The city of New York (New York City - NYC), with its almost 9 million inhabitants, is located in the south of the state of New York, and is divided into five counties or boroughs: Bronx (The Bronx), New York (Manhattan), Queens (Queens), Kings (Brooklyn) and Richmond (Staten Island).
With an intense cultural, economic, commercial and tourist activity, and a great racial diversity (it is estimated that 800 different languages are spoken in New York, although English and Spanish, with more than 2 million Spanish speakers are majority), the The city also offers great possibilities for hiking, both on urban routes, and taking advantage of its huge green spaces and natural parks.
On this occasion, we started a circular march departing from Hunters Point, in Long Island City (Queens), heading south, crossing the Greenpoint neighborhood and then the one in Williamsburg (Brooklyn).
After crossing the long Williamsburg bridge along its busy pedestrian walkway, we pass through Chinatown and Civic Center, to the well-known Brooklyn Bridge, which is one of the most emblematic places in the city.
On the other side, again in Brooklyn, we take a brief tour of the Brooklyn Bridge Park, with magnificent views of the Financial District and the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges, and the Dumbo neighborhood, and return on Kent Av., crossing Williamsburg and Greenpoint again.
It is a very varied route, through the west of Brooklyn and its areas adjacent to the East River (Greenpoint, Williamsburg and Dumbo).
Very particularly interesting Chinatown, the Civic Center, the Brooklyn Bridge, and the Brooklyn Bridge Park.
