Magnificent crossing through some refuges of the Triglav National Park (Slovenia) very well organized and guided by Josep Miró (Tot Natura).
The crossing has been truly spectacular, with a landscape very reminiscent of the Dolomites, since the Julian Alps are still an extension of the Dolomite mountain range and above all because it has the same type of rock, although this 'more modest height.
DESCRIPTION OF THE STAGE.
It was a very "long" day... the plane to Venice left at 7am and we were already more than two hours earlier at the airport. Once we arrived in the Italian city, a private bus took us to Podbrdo, the start of the crossing, in just over 3 hours.
This stage was short in distance, but hard because of the steepness with a continuous slope, which did not give rest. Above the first stretch it was very hot and it didn't let up until we entered the forest.
The path is well marked with paint marks and does not have many junctions. Finally we arrived, it was a short climb to reach the Dom Zorka Jelinčiča refuge, where we left our backpacks and reached the very nearby summit of Crna Prst (yes! The Slovenian language is not notable for its written use of vowels...
This refuge is located on the Vía Alpina (a kind of big GR), and it was our first contact with the "modus operandi" of Slovenian refuges. So we discovered that dinners consist of a single dish, in this case it was soup with vegetables, legumes and some piece of meat.
