Itinerary description

Beautiful, very well marked and maintained trail climbing up and down rocky ridges along the valley of the river Sure. Mostly along forest trails, very little road walking. The route is marked with a white wavy line on a blue rectangle. There is quite a bit of elevation gain as the route is nearly always going up towards a ridge or going back down towards the river. Some of the ups and downs are quite steep.

Starting at the train station in Ettelbruck and finishing in Goebelsmuhle - I stayed at the Camping du Nord, the Goebelsmuhle train station is another 500, 600 meters on.

There is a train station in Michelau, if you need to get out early, as well as a few bus stops along the way. Although the route passes through a few small villages, I did not see any shops and just two cafes or restaurants in Camping du Moulin and Dirbach.
