Itinerary description
A loop inside the Erymanthos, fourth-highest massif of Peloponnese, after Taygetos, Cyllenes and Helmos. But perhaps Erymanthos is the most scenic one, also because of the beauty of its forests on its northern side.
The track starts at Michas, 920 m, from where with the aid of a bicycle one can reach an altitude of 1350 m, also saving several kms. From the end of the road, at a saddle with bee-hives, one takes the path, with a first non-intuitive traverse on steep terrain, soon followed by a comfortable trail. After a mitato, the path reached the saddle east of Olenos.
From here, the climb to the summit is straightforward, although there is no clearly established path.
This would be enough for a beautiful day on the Erymanthos, but who wants can go on for the long ridge of Profitis Ilias. To this aim, one has to descend in direction Alepochori pointing towards two mitatos at nearly 1600 m, and from here to climb to the ridge.
