Itinerary description
Ernir is opposite to the town Isafjordur. Best to do this one second half of the day I guess to have the sun in it´s best position, but not to late since then the town will be in shadow when you get up there. Little bit of climbing at the top. Beware if others are above you since there is lot of loose rocks that might fall down

I made this hike together with 5 friends. In the last days we made many "interesting" experiences with Wikiloc trails in Iceland, and therefory I analyzed the altitude profile very cautious. I compared the trail with the Brellur trail close to Patreksfjördur and came to the decision that we could try.
The trail up to Naustahvilft is pretty easy but steep, then it becomes more difficult. Beginning with altitude 400m we reached the fog and now it get hard to find the correct path. However, we managed it, nevertheless we have chosen a very difficult climbing part close to the summit. During the way down we had problems with falling rocks. I was hit close to the fit, but only by a small stone, another person was very lucky because the rock was pretty huge. So extrem caution is necessary when walking in bigger groups downwards.
Finally this is NO EASY hiking. One should have this in mind when one wants to follow this trail.
