Itinerary description
Day 2 of a three-day trek. Our particular route began at the shelter at Axwani Khota and finished at the shelter of Condoriri Base camp. Going up towards the backside of Pico Austria in the final uphill was scary. There was a little bit of rock climbing that we had to do and you could definitely feel the possibility of someone slipping and falling to their death. Fortunately, nobody did. This route can be done from a different starting point since the Axwani shelter is a pretty isolated place to start. Having private transport take you to Juri Khota and pick you up at La Rinconada is a short yet breathtaking (and scary) hike that you could complete in half a day.
