Itinerary description
Disclaimer: I had a knee surgery 5 months before the hike so it was quite difficult for me as I was not fully recovered. That being said I would still rate the hike as difficult.
I started the hike from the stadium (where I parked the car), and went through Litochoro to the restaurant "Mili" where the trail actually begins. After entering the trail don't be fooled (like me) by the paved trail that goes for about 700m and takes you to a small pond. At that point I had to return back to where the actual E4 trail starts. There IS a sign for it but I thought it was for the paved trail. At the first E4 sign go off the paved trail to the left and uphill where you can easily follow it to Prionia.
The sign on the start of the trail says that it can be done in 4.5 - 5 hours, but do plan some stops along the way to relax on the banks of the river and enjoy really crazy beautiful nature. During warm days bring at least 3 liters of water.
If you park your car in Litochoro you'll have to hich a ride from the top, or arange a taxi to wait for you there.

Still applicable Aug-23. Great tip on the beggining for following the E4 sign (not the paved road). Plenty of places to get into water and full path is covered by the trees (shadow all the time). Because of all that I'd say it's more Moderate than Difficult. The restaurant at Prionia call you a taxi if you need it (30eur to Litohoro).
