Itinerary description
It's a beautiful hike starting from Engelberg. The way goes up through forests following red and white signs. The ascent is long but not technical. You will encounter a lot of hikers going both ways. The lake area is very busy. Climb higher to have a superb view of the lake and its beautiful surroundings. The first part of the descent is steep and not pleasant because of the cable cars' noise (you will be walking under the cable cars). The second part is beautiful, going through green meadows before going back to the town. Enjoy this amazing hike, and get ready to meet a lot of swiss cows!
