Encinas Borrachas - Acueducto Romano - Ronda - Tajo Abanico circular

Start here by the gate and sign to the Dolmens. Go through the gate.

Fork right at the junction and go through the green metal gate.

You will return to this point later in the walk by coming up the lower track.

Go left at the T junction and follow the winding track

Pass through the gate

Leave the road and go up the rough track, then through (or around) the gate

LEAVE the track on the corner, go left and follow a little path above road

Meet concrete track and go right by the pylon.

Leave the track on the right hand bend and take this little path by the fence

Keep following a pretty little path above the riverbed

Meet this double gate, go straight across the track and continue on the small path

Leave the path where there is a gap in the fence and climb uphill to discover the acueduct

There is no path up to the acueduct; just go uphill and you will see it above you. The first photo shows the left hand end of the acueduct; we couldn't get very far so we went back downhill and little and then further on you find the more spectacular section. See other photos.

We met the river path again here. Turn left.

Meet track by a white house and turn right.

At the junction by the signpost, leave the main track and go up left inbetween houses

Cross the main road with great care as traffic goes very fast.

At the next junction go straight across by the pylon.

At the roundabout follow the pink sign to Virgen de la Cabeza

You are now following the GR141 which is well signposted with red and white markers

Pass through the cage gate

Goat farm

Pass the artificial lake.

We took a short cut past the red and white cross and then went steeply uphill to rejoin the track. Or you can stay on the main track which is a more gradual ascent.

When you reach this large gate, see below for various options

You can either pass through a pedestrian opening in the large gate (please close it afterwards), or you can climb up to the left to pass through an alternative pedestrian gate. Just after the gate you reach the junction from earlier in the walk where you passed through the green gate. This time, bear round to the right to return to your parked car.
