Itinerary description

A walk in forestry commission woods at Gravelly hollow Calverton. Also known as Watchwood Plantation. Mostly its on top of the former Calverton Colliery spoil heap. Its surprisingly nice, with a higher level path with good views. At times it has a bit of an alpine feel ! Great for dogs as they can run wild around the entire site. Enter Watchwood plantation into google maps and park in carpark or on the road.

There is a cafe and a greggs in the shopping precinct in Calverton as you drive back . The admiral Rodney in Calverton used to be a nice pub but I've not been in for ages.
