Itinerary description
The entrance to the tract is well marked, turn west off Hwy 48 (#16232) and a good sized parking lot is about 400 hundred meters down the lane. Trails are wide and marked, with lots of options/side trails; a map is recommended if you want to shrink or extend the hike (take a picture of the map at the board at the beginning of the trail or see picture below). On my route there were some noticeable changes to elevation.
It is a rehabilitated area with lots of young trees with some old growth as well and has the feel of a managed forest. The area borders on a archery club and a riding stable and horseback riders are often seen on trail. After some storm damage in 2006, a small pond was created from a creek that runs through the tract. It is a popular tract and there is a good chance you will see/meet other people using the trails.

Very well maintained and pleasant trail. Wouldn’t have know about it if not for Port Flora (thanks!). As mentioned in the description can easily add side trails. Added Hall tract to the hike on a whim and, while both are quite easy, the Eldred King trail is the easier of the two. Together they make an excellent opener for the hiking season to help you ramp up for more challenging hikes.
