Itinerary description
Eldorado-Barry’s Falls Loop was a fabulous walking/hiking route.
Starting off from central Eldorado we headed to the swing bridge at Reid’s Walk which crossed a beautiful river. This is the first of many beautiful river crossings we experienced throughout the day.
Sections of Lonies Gap Rd was quite steep but not impossible for seasoned walkers.
Mull Track was gorgeous. It meandered and followed a creek the entire length to Woolshed Rd.
We encountered MTB riders, other hikers, campers and horseback riders throughout the day.
At Kangaroo Crossing we were very grateful a local man transported us across the fast running river. We stood on the exterior running board of his vehicle and held onto the roof rack! Very exciting!
Directly across the river take the left track and after a short walk to connect with Nieoff Rd turn left then walk a short period to Warbler Tk and walk along to Barry’s Falls. We enjoyed lunch with the falls spray cooling us off.
The weather was perfect, blue skies, light breeze…just perfect. Plenty of bush shade but sun hats highly recommended.
Public toilets in Eldorado at the Memorial Park and also at the McEvoy Tavern (as a patron).
Street parking is plentiful and safe.
BYO (at least) 1.5L water. We used river water at the falls to boil for coffee and tea.
Enjoy a cold beer or cool beverage back at the tavern. Very friendly locals and very comfortable location.
