Itinerary description
Parking at the helipad / firewater reservoir, follow the track upwards, cross the river & continue up the road.
Look for stone kearns marking the start of the trail.
The climb is quite steep in places. It is well marked & levels out after 20 mins but mostly it's onwards & up!
Once at approx 1400 m, there's a rock face to scramble up.
The last part of the ascent is up over jagged rocks to 1488 m.
The descent is down a steep & loose rocky terrain & after 20 mins or so, you're back down to the path.
All in all, this a hard graft up & down but a very rewarding walk in general.
