Itinerary description
This is a beautiful hike to do. I left from the road just before you enter the El Salado Ecological Park. From there you follow a paved road over a wooden bridge until you see the entrance to a small unpaved path. After climbing a bit you get to the point where you are supposed to get right, a sign say private property confused me a bit, but I went in. I was chased by a couple of small dogs and got bitten in my ankle but managed to continue. However due to the consternation here I went wrong. It’s important to pass the houses and go right after the barbed fence. Once on this trail you can follow the route to the electricity mast. The views from here are getting really nice. From the mast there are a lot of different trails going up, just follow the direction of the track to get up to a paved road. I made the mistake to follow the road down for a bit until I realized that this was wrong. Once you hit the road go left and up. After a while you get to see a wide dirt road in front of you, a split on the right that goes down and a barbed fence on the left. Take the road with the barbed fence and continue the trail. From here thing are getting much easier to follow the trail. Just use the wikiloc app to make sure you take the correct path. There is one place on the continuing trail were you have to make a sharp right pay attention to this. I took the effort to make a small loop to the Mirador de Los Caminantes (2850 meters) were you have the most beautiful views over the valley. Then follow the track back to the split and go down, from here you are on your way to the exit point. I walked to the Texaco Station and waited for the bus to Envigado (Metro station). My experience was great and I would recommend this trail to everyone with a fair bit of hiking experience.

We were also chased by a bunch of small dogs and one person was bitten. Carry a stick as they are fearless despite their small size
Good hike, we turned back due to heavy rain and it was getting treacherous.
I would recommend it
