Itinerary description
El Misti Volcano Climb using the classic trail. Apparently very touristy but in February, we saw maybe 8 people on the way up and 8 on the way down. It is not a very technically difficult climb but the altitude gets at you quickly since you go from 2,300m to 5,822m within 24 hours. I recommend you get a guide although it is realistic to do it without one.

Hola hola,
I've done it in October 2021 in two days.
Day 1 : from the car park to the base camp (approx 4500m) : around 5h30 with a few breaks. You can follow the path. Hard day because of all the stuff you carry (water, tent, etc.) and the heat.
Day 2 : starting around 3am, you just take a small bagpack (water, snacks, etc.). Your gain of altitude is the main difficulty, the day looked pretty long. Between 5 and 6 hours to the summit (only 2 days in Arequipa to get used to it). The view is wonderful on the city, Chachani and other mountains...
About the return : 1h to the base camp, 1h of break and 1h20 to the car park.
What to bring : warm clothes for the night and the morning, 6L of water/pp, snacks, coca tea, headlight, gloves...
