Itinerary description
El Charco is a small waterfall with very easy access just a short walk from the the main road on a concrete path - beyond the waterfall there is a jungle trail to the old Gold Mine - where you can see some remants of machinery used during the Canal construction era. The trail follows a shallow river all the way to the mine and I lost count of how many times we had to cross the stream- so you WILL get wet feet or wear rubber boots. Nice easy trail. and well marked. On weekends go early to avoid crowds at the waterfall.
