Itinerary description
Much of this section uses well-maintained roads, and offers views of distant peaks in all directions. The manageable elevation changes allow us to combine this section with Section 10, so long as we start at a reasonable time in the morning. This combination is advantageous since there are no shops along the trail from the Palo Verde Forest Reserve until the final approach to Cerro Alto. Just before this section ends, we can purchase food and beverages at a roadside store.
