Itinerary description
Leaving the coastal islands, we cross a broad, flat, tropical lowland dedicated
to pastures for livestock and industrial agriculture. Banana plantations, farms, and
fields line our path until we approach villages near National Primary Route 32.
Although there is little gain of elevation in this section, the lack of shade still makes
water a valuable commodity. Fortunately, shops along the way sell food and cold
drinks. We conclude just beyond the train tracks that connect San José and Limón,
in the community of Cimarrones.
