Itinerary description
Nice hike around Einruhr, taking in the Rursee, forests, timber-framed houses, the Dreiborner Hochfläche, and fields above the village. There are a few steep sections on this trip. There are few places to eat and drink something in the center of the village. At the start is a paid parking lot.
From the parking at the start you walk to the walkway along the lake, taking you past the jetty where the Rursee ferry moors. When the walkway ends you follow roads through the village to the Jägersweiler Strasse, which takes you along the lake. There are a few viewing points and a platform along this flat street. You then take a path past the communal waste water treatment uphill to a viewing point across the lake with a bench. You take a path further uphill until you get to a very steep path uphill to a forest road. You follow this forest road to a bifurcation and then go uphill to the Dreiborner Hochfläche, past a pasture and a pick-nick place. This forest road continues uphill until the view opens up across the plateau of the Dreiborner Hochfläche. A bit further you take a smaller path downhill away from the plateau through the forest Auf dem Rurberg. The path ends up at the edge of the forest where you have a view across pasture towards Einruhr and the lake. You follow a path along the edge of the forest, taking you further down. Another path on the edge of the forest gives you great views. At a cross you continue to Herbert’s Eck, a scenic viewpoint, all the way with great views. You continue along the edge of the forest and then go down steeply to Einruhr. Through the village you take the fastest route back, through the Kosnumspättche alley, to the parking at the start.
