Itinerary description
The trail was an exploratory one where we also had to deal with fried up thorns that became a thorn in our sides. The weather was great with temp in lower 20s and cloudy sky and breeze helping us stay cool.
As for the scenery, I will let the pictures speak for themselves.
N.B. This is an EXTREMELY DIFFICULT hike and could be DANGEROUS.
Waypoints
Sea Sand
In Lebanon, you find beach sands at the top of mountains which is used as evidence that earth was submerged in water millions of years ago.
Fertile Land
among rocks you come across pieces of land that are being tilled and used by farmers for summer/winter vegitation.
Bottomless Gore
We stumbled on this cave/gore by chance. Throwing a stone in it, we could hear it crashing on the sides before it finally faded away a good time later.
Rock Formation
sun and snow do wonder for nature. one of many rock formations you find in Mount Namrood.
Cave
This cave was visited by others before us (markings on how to get in/out). And to our surprise we found snow. This is the farthest summer time where we stumbled on snow in Lebanon.
Surveying Point
Lebanese Army places these points on mountain tops to help in topographical matters in Lebanon.
Virgin Mary Rock
Rock formations that resembles the virgin Mary. We had our lunch break there.
Inferno
What is heaven without hell? a few hundred meters away from the virgin Mary rock, we encountered another rock formation dubbed as the inferno by our Guide Chris. The rocks are formidable and the soil is black.
