Itinerary description
The first day of the Highlander Cedrus Lebanon chapter, dedicated to backpacking and camping, was an unforgettable adventure. Our journey began at Saydit el Hosn, perched atop the hill with breathtaking views over Ehden. From there, we hiked up to the Ehden Cross and continued to Ain el Nwahir, the highest point of our trail at 2,140 meters.
Most of our route followed the Lebanon Mountain Trail (LMT). After reaching Ain el Nwahir, we branched off from the LMT and descended towards Bteleya, situated at 1,850 meters, where we took a well-deserved rest at the checkpoint. The descent was both long and steep in places, traversing a blend of roads, dirt paths, and footpaths.
In the valley between "Mazraat el Teffah" and "Hmaiss/Meziara," we navigated a few tricky passages, though none were overly risky. As the day drew to a close, we arrived at Mart Moura (Saint Moura, Hmaiss/Meziara), where we set up our first camp.
