A nice pedestrian route taking in the gardens at Hampton Court Palace Gardens (free to enter because it was during the Flower Show) and then following "Barge Walk" which goes along the river Thames.

Thames Sailing Barge
The traditional barges have "otter boards" on the side instead of a keel, because there is a very shallow draught in the Thames.
