Eagles Peaks and Bluff circuit overnight - Solo Hike
1. Sheepyard to Davons Flat
2. Davons Flat to Eagles Peaks (Via Eagles Peaks Trail)
3. Eagles Peaks to 8 Mile Gap
4. 8 Mile Gap to Refigerator Gap
5. Refigerator Gap to Bluff Summit via Bluff hiking trail
6. Overnight Camp Bluff Summit
7. Bluff Summit to Bluff Hut
8. Bluff Hut to Bluff Car Park
9. Bluff Car Park to Richies Hut via overgrown spur track
10. Richies Hut to Sheepyard via High Trail and Brocks Road.
52km Circuit, Very difficult for 2 days... You could make it easier doing it in 3 or 4 days at a slower more comfortable pace. Very steep and rocky up-and-downs going over Eagles Peaks and very steep climb up the Bluff face from Refigerator Gap. Not much water over Eagles Peaks nor on the Bluff in warmer conditions so carry extra. I left Sheepyard Flats with 6 liters on day one. Weighs the pack down but water is priceless when up higher.
Beautiful glowing sunset looking back over Timbertop as I reached the Bluff Summit. Clear winters day with patches of snow at the top along with a full moon. Great hike!
