Yesterday we arrived from the right, the E4 now continues to our left to cross the Rhodope mountains and enter Greece through the mountain, we leave the E4 and continue straight ahead, we cannot enter Greece through the mountain, they force us to use one of its border crossings because of the Covid, so we take a path that goes to Koulata.
We go down a wide track with a forest similar to yesterday's, beech pines and some oaks. We advance quickly, the path lends itself to it until we see the houses of Goleshovo. The path seems to enter the town but it makes a right turn and descends to a river. We pass by an old one-arch bridge and continue with a totally different forest where hazelnut predominates. We descend with more intensity to a river that we cross twice before reaching Kalimantsi where we make a stop to replenish.
We leave Kalimantsi following the road, the wine area, the workers are picking the grapes, in one of the plantations they offer us grapes that we eat while we walk. The path follows a road until we reach Katuntsi where we stop for a coke.
We leave the town following a path that begins to rise and fall between vine plantations, in the distance we can already see the road that crosses the border, behind it the mountains that separate Bulgaria from North Macedonia. We enter Koulata, we decide to cross the border the next day, we look for an accommodation and we take a shower and then go out to dinner, we find a restaurant near the border and we take a walk seeing the border shops, casino and hotels, the 35 km and 27 ° C have tired the legs so we decided to go back to the hotel to sleep.
