We always speak of Cubans as representatives of the calm rhythm without rushing, but I think that the Bulgarians beat them. It's amazing how long it can take to serve breakfast, you can meet at 7:30 in the morning and leave at 9:30 for a coffee and a couple of toasts.
From the Piri hotel, we come out onto a track that we follow in a gentle ascent, the path, as on other occasions, continues through pine and beech forests, every four or five kilometers there is a bivouac and a fountain where we can spend the night. It is something monotonous and you have to take it calmly. We stop at a bivouac where there is a lot of signage attached to the trunk of a tree and where we rest a bit, it is sunny but quite cold so we are not long. The path narrows and changes the terrain, we penetrate large beech forests, facing south facing the Rhodope mountains that act as a border wall with Greece. We reach a hill, the E4 continues straight ahead, we turn left and descend one kilometer to the Slavyanka Cabin where we will spend the night. It is managed by Dimitri and Dimitria by an older couple, the singing voice is led by Dimitria, he speaks enough Spanish to understand us, he spent five years working in Pamplona and its surroundings, he tells us that if we found him a job to take care of someone he would return to Spain, but this time With her husband, it is very hard to be apart for so long.
As we have arrived early we have eaten a plate of beans and a French omelette and a cake for dessert, Dimitirá has prepared a washing machine for us and we took the opportunity to put half the equipment in it. We will spend the afternoon relaxed in this cabin located near the Greek border, in the Pirin mountains located further south.
