Some rain is falling, we can see it through the glass while we have breakfast, we doubt with the equipment, but the predictions are good although we have had a maximum temperature drop of nine degrees.
We left Baile Herculane taking a path to the left, after having crossed the entire town. The road goes up to a point that we must turn right and now it starts to climb, we pass between two cottages where their dogs press to move away from their comfort zone.
The road goes up and up between the forest, beech, chestnut and later oaks until we reach a main track that we take to the right to descend between the forest to a sheep fold where the four dogs welcome us. From the farmhouse we go back up to an antenna that we saw from time ago. From here we walked between meadows where the cows graze quietly except the male who takes care of them who got pissed off in our path and we thought he was going to get ahead.
We passed some windmills, rather one, they were two but one of them has a split blade.
From the mill we can see the Danube again, we saw it several times in Austria and Hungary, it is a joy to see it again. We descend a very annoying stone path for our feet until we connect with a track where the E3 runs from Nesebar in Bulgaria to Santiago de Compostela. We continue on the E3 until we get off the road and the bridge that saves the Cerna River when it flows into the Danube.
We cross the bridge and turn left to enter Orsova which, like each of these villages, are not very wide but longer than a day without bread. On the way we see the boats that for 50 LEI give you a ride on the Danube, and of course we sign up. A small boat with a 150 HP engine, to see the face of Decébalo on a large rock, the Tabula Traíana located on the Serbian side, the Mraconia monastery in addition to the Veterany cave where we entered with the boat a few meters, an hour and a half of boat that we should not lose, especially if we know something of the history between the Dacios de Decébalo and the Roman legions of Marco Ulpio Trajano.
After the tour we return to Orsova accommodation, a small and cozy apartment located in one of the marginal neighborhoods of Orsova. The check in is done by Andreas to indicate each one of the areas of the house.
A shower and dinner in a small pizzeria, tomorrow we have no defined path and it will be a new adventure to get to Drobeta, everything to avoid the road.
