Itinerary description
Recommended hiking path from Dupevica Peak (Dupevitsa, Дупевица), Lyulin Mountain to the last stop of tram N5 in Knyazhevo district, Sofia, Bulgaria.
Lyulin is one of the smaller mountains around Sofia and its highest peak Dupevica is only 1256m above sea level.
The starting point of this trail is easily accessible with very regular public transport from the centre of the capital of Bulgaria. It can be walked in both directions, and is also good for mountain biking or off-road vehicles.
No special gear needed, however there is chance to meet free range animals like cows, horses and others, which is advisable not to approach. There are also feral dogs in the outskirts of Sofia, which can be aggressive and is recommended to carty sturdy walking stick and probably pepper spray for self defence. Other than that the walk is very pleasant and easy.
