Itinerary description
This mostly paved path is located along the Raritan River in Duke Island Park, in Bridgewater, part of the Somerset County Park system. The trail is located in a flood plain next to the river and floods in heavy rain. The park is home to many species of birds and water fowl, including kingfishers, cormorants, red-bellied woodpeckers, small hawks, and even a local bald eagle that fishes the river. The trail is sometimes plowed after snowstorms in the winter.
