BRIEF REVIEW:
We start the route in Aungier street . We follow this street in a northerly direction until we reach the South City Market , where we turn right and enter the market, crossing it as we see the different stalls.
We connect with Drury street , which we travel in a northerly direction passing between beautiful buildings.
We turn left heading west and then right to turn left again down Dame Lane , where we find a wall with realistic graffiti of famous musicians.
We enter the esplanade in front of Dublin Castle . Then we enter through an arcade in the castle square, where there is a curious statue of a lioness. There is a fee to enter the castle building.
We go back and go around the castle tower to enter the Dublin Gardens . We cross the gardens and walk down two streets until we reach Christ Church Cathedral , surrounded by a beautiful garden. There is a fee to enter the cathedral.
We pass by a building-museum called Dublinia , where there is an exhibition (for a fee) about the Vikings.
We cross the Civic Gardens passing by Dublin City Hall and go up the beautiful street of Essex street . We also walk a few meters from Cows Lane where there is usually an open-air market.
We continue along Essex street and enter the Temple Bar area, an area of Dublin full of pubs and a very festive atmosphere in the street. In many pubs there are live performances in the evenings. It's a great place to have a beer and listen to live music.
We climb Crown Alley and reach the Liffey river , which we cross by the historic Ha'penny Bridge .
Ha'Penny Bridge is Dublin's oldest pedestrian crossing over the River Liffey. It was erected in 1816 under the name Wellington Bridge and acquired its better-known nickname from the halfpenny toll charged to all bridge users until 1919.
We retrace the Liffey River Walk (Liffey Boardwalk) and cross the river again, now heading south via O'Donnel Bridge .
We turn right on Fleet Street and pass the Hard Rock Cafe . We turn south and enjoy a high and wide painted wall at the Blooms Hotel .
We head south to link up with College Green and pass the Bank of Ireland .
We cross two streets and stop at Trinity College , the most expensive and elitist college in Dublin. We enter it (entrance is free) and access Parliament Square . We wander around the beautiful and spacious gardens, and then head back the way we came.
We head south along Grafton street , a shopping street full of big international brand stores.
We enter St. Stephen's Green , a beautiful park, by the Fusiler's Arch . We walk through the park and leave through its west gate.
From here we follow York street in a westerly direction until we reach Aunger street and the starting point of the route.
