Beautiful hike, with overnight at Ivan Vasov hut. No need to book, there is room and blankets (except around August 20th).
The cards are not very precise (they are on sale in the shops around the monastery). By cons the path is very well marked.
The hike can be done in the opposite direction, but beware of the violent rise at the start, it is better to go down.
In Rila, you can sleep at the monastery, or camping Zodiak, 2 km higher.

Hi,
I am thinking of taking this hike soon, but I am not sure about some things.
You have marked it as "difficult", and it is very steep, but how trained do you need to be to take this hike?
When did you take the hike? How hot was it?
Is there water (rivers, etc.) along the way?
