Itinerary description
About 8 Weeks ago, I set myself a Challenge to Hike Jebel Jais from various directions and reach its True Summit at 1935 meters Peak, which Technically lies with our Neighbours.
The Challenge to self was to complete 5 Trails from various directions at the base of Jebel Jais mountain of various difficulties and elevation gains of upto 2200 meters well before my Birthday in March.
Here I am today, I managed to complete all the hikes in my list.
Ranking by difficulty level.
6. Jais View Deck Park to Jais True summit and back. 16 Kms
5. Wadi Shah to Jais True Summit and end at View Deck Park. 24 Kms
4. Wadi Ghalilah to Jebel Jais True Summit and end at View Deck Park, 24 Kms
3. STH Right Bank to Jais True Summit to Ghalilah Dam to Wadi Litibah. 24 Kms
2. STH Left Bank to Jais True Summit to Ghalilah Dam to Wadi Litibah. 24 Kms
1. Al Rams to Jais Summit 21 Kms through Exploration Hike by Abdeslam of Adventure Extreme Group.
In my 2 years 4 months of Hiking life, I am so proud and Happy that God has been so merciful and generous in his blessings so that I could achieve my dream.
I have been fortunate to be in the company of some Ace Hikers of UAE who taught me so much about Hiking, Terrain, Methods and Geography.
God Bless All.
BETTER LATE THAN NEVER

The views from the top sections are impressive of The RAK city, Ghalilah valley, and other view points.
Further you will rach a gradual ascent trail and it goes via the 1484 Puro restaurant and you can have refreshments there too.

Hearty congratulations to you, that's a splendid achievement to be proud of.
From the marked summit at 1600m , how is the trail to the true summit?
My friends and I want to go there for a sunrise trek, but do we have to wait until the deck park gate opens or is there an alternate route for hikers to start at the 1200m elevation start point?
From 1600s, there is no trail, but my recording is pretty good enough
The hike path is basically Mountain surface, no exposed areas or any technicals.
You should be fine.
At the newly constructed camping area at 1800s, you need to keep right away from the Royal property fence.
Last year, there were no restrictions to access this are, not sure about present conditions.
Enjoy Hiking.
Thank you so much, will try to get to 1600 atleast :)
1600 is 4 kms one way from View Park deck, it's accessible even when the park is closed.
During park hours, they charge dhs 5 per person to access the park.
They used to have a hikers register, I'm not sure if it is still implemented.
You can park the car in designated parking bay along the road too.
The views along the 1640 Ghaf summit trail are simply impressive, of RAK city, Woh village and Wadi Ghalilah.
Wonderful, looking forward to this one. Thank you so much for your helpful suggestions
Hi Patrik, I want to try this one but I was reading above comments. Any insight news if after 1800m( with the property you mentioned above) are any restrictions? Thank you so much. My plan is to start from aprox. 1500 m, as I already did Ghaf summit trail separately.
Hi Elida,
There is no issues whatsoever.
Matter of fact, the recent Highlander event guys have clearly made a trail.
You will find it very easy.
Oh, thank you so much. Good tip! 👍
So Elida, did you do this hike ?
Hi Patrick, not yet, it is planned for 18.12. Can wait though, is on my bucket list since last year. Nevertheles, after doing Ghaf summit separately, I expect great views from this one too! Keep you posted.

Hi, so we finally did it. We could not acces the trail from Puro, as may initial plan to make it shorter, because it's a securiy checking point before which I didn't know about. Then we thought climbing from last parking view no.14 but again not possible as they are building some new attraction like a slide/ train or something similar. The only chance is to do it from beginning, but not on a Friday ..was the whole country on the trail and spoiled my mood a bit at the beginning as I am not fun of hiking congestions. But liked it so much , I will put this one on my repeat list ( and I don't have many there yet 😁).
Thank you for updating on geographical change at the location.
It was much easier and better before.
But change is the rule these days.
Wishing you all the best for traffic free Hike, Elida.
