Itinerary description
Drakhtisar is a mountain with the heigh of 2209 m located near Yelpin and Rind villages, in Vayots Dzor province.
SO WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE HIKING THERE ?
- You start from Yelpin village.
- The trail is quite long, its lenghth is 23 km, so it's more suitable for experienced hikers/trekkers.
- During your way you'll visit the lake Vardanis by name between mountains.
- Near lake during high season you can meet a family, who lives there and ask them to fullfill your water-bottles.
In May there is also a lot of rivers where from you can alsto take water.
- Except the last summit part, you hike the main route by mountainous road traces.
- The summit part is really not easy to pass because of rocks, there are places that you need to climb, as there is no any proper way, though we didn't need any climbing equipment.
- In our track the summit part we climbed is a shorter way than the one we went back from summit, bute both the ways are rather rocky and not ''smooth''.
- You end your trail in Rind village.
- The best season of Drakhtisar is from the the half of April till the half of June. From July till November it's possible to climb this mountain either, but it's too hot and the greenary is dried already.
