Hi, did you get my message at https://www.wikiloc.com/hiking-trails/elshani-galicica-national-park-ridge-chumo-vlaga-peak-117627925 (it seems not possible to message you directly, better turn this feature on in the settings...)
Yes I got it. I didnt know you can message directly. I can't seem to find the setting for it?
Settings -> privacy -> enable private messaging. If you click on my avatar/name it should bring you to my home page and show "send private message" (on the website of Wikiloc)
I don't have privacy under settings. Wait is it only on the website version, not the app?
Yes, that's right, the good old-fashioned web version :-)
Still doesn't work?? I logged in on the Web version. Ticked private messaging. But I still don't get send private message when I got your profile. Strange.
Maybe it's a bug. I had issues with private messages last week as well. No worries, hope you'll enjoy your hikes in Macedonia!
I had contact with Wikiloc support and there are some limitations to the messaging system:
Private messages can only be sent from the web.
The sender's user-rank must be > 500.
Both (sender and receiver) must have private messages activated (Configuration > Privacy settings).
I have never worried about rank. Mine is to low then. How do you raise it?
See here: https://help.wikiloc.com/article/185-userrank-user-wikiloc
I think the requirement for a user-rank > 500 in order to send messages is not very good for the Wikiloc community, unfortunately...And us communicating through the comments of one of your trails is not optimal!
Yes I agree. I have wanted to message a number of people about trails before. Just to ask questions about it. Seems like a basic thing for everyone to have.
