Easy to follow
Scenery
Moderate
The first half of the trail was on road, both tarmac & gravel until you arrive at the Acorrey Lake. Thereafter the trail is difficult to follow & very wet. This was probably due in no small part to Storm Ellen which had just passed the previous day. Scenery at the lakes & further up the trail is stunning. The last third section back down through the bog to Dooagh was unpleasant. We followed the path of the stream to walk on the rocks. This avoided some of the more boggy areas. Walking poles were a big aid.
