Itinerary description
You gain a thousand feet EG a mile for the first three miles of this hike thus my heart was pumping by the time I approached the summit which offers nice views of the Columbia Gorge west bound and of course wildflowers galore come May and June.
I did this in January and again at the end of May and included photos from both hikes to show how terrain changes by season. The January hike offered solitude and a stark beauty; the May hike was very crowded, but literally full of life. I don't think it would be possible to feel anything but alive on top of Dog in May or June.
