Itinerary description

Dobërdol - Gjeravica Summit - Zalli Rupës

“Peaks of the Balkans Trail”

In this trail you will be climbing the highest mountain of Kosovo and the second highest of the Accursed mountains after Jezerca peak. The route to the summit from Doberdol is a straightforward hike.
This is a loop path that will take you to Kosovo (an open border)

Gjeravica seems almost from all parts of Kosovo, like a giant mountain that stands alone and fearless, as the highest peak in Kosovo. It is the highest peak in Kosovo, the second-highest of Accursed Mountains, and the sixth of Balkan mountains with an altitude of 2656m. It is located in the Western part of Kosovo, near its border with Albania and Montenegro.

Shepherd’s village of Dobërdol

The Village of Dobërdol, is a small summer settlement built in the middle of nowhere along a tiny river rushing down the slope in short waterfalls. Horses, cows and sheep are grazing freely around the village where no fences are needed. It seems like we just reach a piece of heaven! The village is made of poorly-made scattered huts hosting sheperds and trekkers alike during the warm months of the year.
