Intersection
This trail takes you from the old science museum all the way to the new 84 acre science museum along the way you get to see history of the museum from the past and a lot of nature
Fauna
This trail opened in 1967. It featured 11 life size dinosaurs and was one of the first outdoor dino exhibits in the southeast. Museum curator Richard Wes off hand sculpted the models from plaster. The dinosaurs were based on scientific knowledge of the day. In 1966 hurricane Fran left the trail impassable but the Bronto can still be seen today. And it’s a showcase of the strides the science museum has taken and there is now a permeant trail at the museum.
Monument
This is where the first life and science museum opened back in the 1930s it was the first trailside nature center in NC. From here the museum expanded with exhibits on minerals and fossils.
