Easy ascent to Lē'ahi Crater, better known as Diamond Head.
To go up you need to book online. If you don't get tickets including the parking inside the crater you can easily reserve only the entrance on foot. Just park your car before entering the crater and walk up. The closest parking is the Kahala Lookout, just before the tunnel, but you have to arrive at 1am (7am) to find a place, and it costs 10usd. If not, you will have to park further down, outside the crater, and make the trek a little longer.
The excursion is simple and short. The top offers the best views of Honolulu and Waikiki in particular. The route is full of tourists up and down, it is not the best of the excursions if you do not like crowds, and that I went in the low season.
Honestly, I liked climbing the Koko Crater better, much more demanding, but also with better views, and much fewer people.
