Fourth day of treking. We already have closer to the top of Kilimanjaro and we are also becoming more aware that it is not as easy as we thought.
Today the day will pass through a rocky terrain with lots of earth.
To begin the stage we will have to go up by "Barranco Wall", which is a spectacular wall that a priori seemed very difficult to cross, but then reality taught us that it was not so much (fortunately).
Once you get to the top of Barranco Wall, you have spectacular views of the volcanic cone of Kilimanjaro (it seems to be right there) and its white-blue glaciers.
We continue our hike to Karanga Hut by a road rompepiernas since there are a couple of ups and downs with a lot of slope.
Karanga Hut is a camp that people use to sleep when they do the Machame Route in 7 days (advisable to acclimatize better). In our case, we made a small stop to eat.
From here to Barafu Hut we will have three hours of constant climb through a terrain that is a desert of height.
When we reach the camp of Barafu Hut we will be at 4600 meters high. Here you can already see the height ... having a slight dizziness, also having almost one hundred beats per minute at rest, etc ... But luckily Pachi and I are quite well acclimatized. Both this day and the previous one, we have been seeing people who did not assimilate well the height and were in not very good conditions.
The temperature here already drops below 0º and makes a freezing wind.
We will have dinner as soon as we arrive and we will go to the sleeping bag at 7:00 p.m. We will only have 4 hours to sleep-rest, since at 23:00 we will get up to start the attack to the summit at 0:00.
