One of the main claims of Gokyo, in addition to the views from the Gokyo Ri, is that it is in an area of beautiful lakes, the 4th and 5th being the most hidden and those that allow you to make a beautiful excursion to visit them, always being at the foot of Cho Oyu.
Already on the way you have to look for the head of Lake Gokyo to go in search of the valley that forms the Gokyo Ri with the moraine of the Ngozumpa glacier.
Now it is time to follow a path that is lost at times and in which it is difficult to follow the infinity of milestones that appear everywhere, luckily it does not have much loss, since it is as simple as going up the valley.
At one point along the way we observe the 4th lake below, the largest of the 5 that make up the Gokyo lakes, so we will have to start looking for where to go down to reach its shore.
Already in the lake we observe a water of a cloudy color but that still and so perfectly reflects the mountains that surround it, a place where it is worth standing a few minutes to contemplate the surroundings.
After the visit it is time to get back on track to go back to look for the path, this time making a trochemoche to not retrace the path and stop a bit, always with Cho Oyu and its impressive dividing crest with Tibet.
Again on the path we have to win a small hill that has to leave us in a new valley, this much wider and without the harsh chaos of blocks and rocks that we have had to overcome until we get here.
We cross the wide valley until we reach a new hill where we will see a beautiful path that is now traveling along the slope of the mountain that we have on the left and that will take us somewhat higher making us gain height more smoothly than if we were going through the bottom of the valley, since this and the valley go to the same place.
Just at the moment that the two roads meet we reach the part where we are shown the quito lake, with the Ngokumpa Tse that wants to hide us, but without success, Cho Oyu.
Again it is time to go down to the shore of the lake to enjoy its waters, you are much clearer and turquoise than the previous one, where we find a landmark with a plate with data on the lake, and a beautiful corner where you can have a snack in absolute solitude, since I haven't found anyone on the entire route.
After a good while it is time to return to the lodge following the same path as on the climb.
